CleverCards Student Referral Program Terms & Conditions (2025)
These Referral Terms (“Terms”) are published by CleverCards (“we”, “us”, “our”) in respect of a program for incentivising the referral of new business customers to us (the “Referral Program”).
Our Referral Program, as displayed on our website, together with these Terms, forms a binding agreement between CleverCards and any participant (“Referrer”, “you”, or “your”).
1. How the Program Works
The CleverCards Student Referral Program allows students in Ireland to invite businesses to join CleverCards and benefit from the Small Benefit Exemption (SBE), which enables employers to reward employees with up to €1,500 tax-free each year.
As a Referrer, you will earn a CleverCard reward for each new business you refer that:
- Signs up using your unique referral link, and
- Places an order of at least €3,000 through CleverCards.
For each qualifying referral, you will receive a €25 as a reward, and you can earn up to €125 per referred business (based on the total order value, capped at €15,000).
2. Reward Tiers
Rewards are issued according to the order value of the referred business:
- €25 CleverCard for every €3,000 ordered (minimum threshold).
- €50 CleverCard for €6,000,
- €75 CleverCard for €9,000,
- €100 CleverCard for €12,000,
- €125 CleverCard for €15,000 or more (maximum reward per business).
If a referred business attempts to place an order above €15,000, the Referrer will still receive a €125 reward, and the business will be directed to a Discovery Call with a CleverCards Account Executive, who will handle the order directly.
3. Eligibility
To participate in this Program, you must:
- Be a resident of Ireland, aged 18 years or older.
- Be an active student enrolled in an Irish university, institute of technology, or college.
- Register using the official CleverCards Student Referral Form.
You may not participate if you are an employee, contractor, or affiliate of CleverCards or any associated company.
4. What Qualifies as a Referral
A “Referral” is defined as a new business that:
- Is not an existing CleverCards customer,
- Signs up using your unique referral link, and
- Completes an order of at least €3,000 within the program period.
Existing CleverCards customers, including businesses that have already ordered CleverCards, are not eligible as referrals.
Where two Referrers refer the same business, the reward will go to whichever link the business used first.
5. Issuing of Rewards
- Rewards will be paid in the form of a CleverCard (a digital Mastercard).
- Rewards are issued after the referred business has completed and paid for their order.
- You will be notified by email once your reward is available.
- CleverCards reserves the right to verify referrals before issuing rewards.
- Rewards will not be paid for cancelled, refunded, or disputed orders.
6. Privacy
All personal data collected through this program will be handled in accordance with the CleverCards Privacy Policy, available on our website.
By participating, you consent to CleverCards processing your information for the purpose of managing your participation, issuing rewards, and communicating updates about the program.
7. Program Limits and Monitoring
7.1. All referrals must come from genuine personal outreach. Referrals generated through spam, fake accounts, misleading communication, or paid advertising are prohibited.
7.2. CleverCards reserves the right to monitor and review referrals to prevent fraud or abuse.
7.3. We may request proof of student status or identification before issuing any rewards.
8. Restrictions
8.1. This program cannot be combined with other CleverCards referral programs, discounts, or promotions.
8.2. You may not use any misleading, intrusive, or spam-like methods to promote your referral link.
8.3. You may not publish the referral link on websites or social media accounts that contain inappropriate, offensive, or unrelated content.
8.4. Referrals must come from direct communication — such as sharing with businesses you know or contacting local business owners personally.
8.5. The referral program is for personal participation only and not for commercial exploitation.
9. Training and Support
As a Referrer, you will receive:
- Access to training sessions and resources that explain how CleverCards and the SBE work.
- Templates, guides, and visuals to help you approach and refer businesses professionally.
- Ongoing support from the CleverCards Team to assist with questions or issues.
We’re committed to ensuring you’re supported and confident throughout the program.
10. Term and Termination
10.1. The 2025 CleverCards Student Referral Program will run until the 6th of January and may be extended or ended at CleverCards’ discretion.
10.2. Referrals made before the program’s end date will remain valid and will be processed accordingly.
10.3. CleverCards reserves the right to terminate your participation at any time if you breach these Terms or misuse the program.
11. Relationship
11.1 You understand and agree that you are only a user of our services and/or products, and refrain from implying any other affiliation or legal relationship with us.
11.2 You understand and agree that you are never authorized to legally bind our company.
11.3 You must never create any materials that contain our branding, trademark, (part of) our corporate identity.
11.4 By participating in the Referral Program you must not represent yourself in duplicate, agent or intermediary of our company
12. Amendments
CleverCards may amend or update these Terms, including reward values, eligibility criteria, and duration of the program, at any time. Updated versions will be published on the CleverCards website and apply immediately upon posting.
13. Violations and Disqualification
13.1. In case we suspect any violations of these terms or otherwise tampering with, fraud or unreasonable use of our Referral Program, we may in our sole discretion cancel the distribution of any discount, benefit or payout.
13.2. If you are a current or former employee, contractor or affiliate of our company, we may restrict your participation in the Referral Program, and we may restrict or cancel your participation with immediate effect.
13.3. You must comply with all applicable laws and regulations, and refrain from violating any third party rights. These rights include any copyright, trademark or other proprietary rights.
14. Disclaimer and Liability
14.1. We offer our Referral Program and its benefits only on an “as is” and “as available” basis. We may remove, change and update the Referral Program in our sole discretion. We will never make any promises or guarantees about the content and information of our Referral Program. We disclaim our responsibility for any information that is incorrect or has errors. We shall no liability for any losses direct or indirect howsoever arising under any theory of law to you in respect of the Referral Program.
14.2. Our Referral Program is based on our best efforts. You acknowledge and agree that we can never guarantee any benefit or result from participating in the Referral Program.
14.3. You will defend, indemnify and hold CleverCards harmless from and against all claims, damages, liabilities, losses, expenses and costs (including reasonable attorneys fees) arising out of your participation in the Referral Program.
15. No Correspondence, Disputes And Refunds
With regards to the distribution of discounts, vouchers, incentives, prizes, awards or other benefits, no correspondence will be entered into. Moreover, we shall never respond to any complaint or accept any dispute about the Referral Program, and the above mentioned benefits. are provided “as is” and we are not required to ever refund or exchange such benefits.
16. Applicable Law
These Terms and any differences or disputes (including non-contractual disputes) shall be governed by Irish law and the courts of Ireland shall have the exclusive jurisdiction to settle any dispute or claim that arises out of or in connection with these Terms.
